Disability Consultancy For Creative Change
Organisations Call Out

CONTEXT
Disabled Producers Liz Counsell, Kate Marsh and Linda Rocco came together as Disability Consultancy For Creative Change (DC4CC) in 2021 with support from Arts Council England and were joined by a steering group of organisations - Metal Culture, The New Wolsey, Ipswich, Colchester Arts Centre and Cambridge Junction. Our shared aim was to undertake research within our networks into the experiences of disabled artists and audiences accessing venues. The culminating discussions can be found here: http://www.metalculture.com/projects/disability-consultancy-for-creative-change-dc4cc

 NOW AND FUTURE PLANS
Following the securing of additional funds from Arts Council England to move the project into a second stage, using learning from our research in Phase 1, we are now seeking to build a consortium of partners across the East of England who will contribute to a nationally significant two-year development programme for a cohort of disabled artists / producers / practitioners, starting in 2023. The aim of the DC4CC is to make tangible change to the performing arts landscape in the East for D/deaf and disabled artists and producers, embedding a culture of best practice across the region in relation to disability.

 HOW TO GET INVOLVED
We are currently looking for potential partner organisations for Phase 2 of DC4CC who are based in the Arts Council England South East Region.
We are not prescribing what partners will have to bring, nor a minimum contribution, but instead asking you to offer what you feel you can in terms of supporting disabled artists / companies / producers, or disability-led practice. Examples might include a paid placement, mentoring, space, performance opportunities, training, administrative support, expertise, access to your networks, cash, or anything else that you are particularly well-placed to deliver.

If you are interested in participating please complete the EOI at the link here by December 2nd. We are also hosting a non-compulsory drop-in over zoom on November 24th from 10am to 11:30am, where potential partners can meet us and find out more. You can book your place at the drop-in by replying to this email.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!
