The project in 2019 included focus groups and participatory workshops with those less able to access arts provisions, culminating in a two-day festival co produced by Liz Counsell, Linda Rocco and Cambridge Junction. The Festival included live performances, exhibitions, discussions and a recording of the BBC Ouch! podcast, showcasing the best of disability arts in the UK.
'I'm Here Where Are You?' engages artists, audience and national venue programmers and invites you to take watch, experience and take part.
“I am writing to thank all the performers, organisers and volunteers who helped to put on the I'm Here, Where Are You? Festival for renewing my faith in humanity and making me laugh more than I have in a long, long time.(Crying I've always been good at!!) The performances and installations, although based on tales of tragedy, trauma and injustice, were interestingly varied, awe-inspiringly honest and vulnerable, stunningly beautiful and funny as f**k. A great deal of care was taken to provide for all sorts of disabilities and I thoroughly enjoyed being treated like I actually existed.” Festival audience member, 2019
